Feeding Systems
Please Call Us For Ordering Information, 262-512-9559Once the material is size reduced, it can be fed into the reprocessing system. The efficiency of a regenerating system depends on the characteristics of the material to be processed. Too much material being fed into the process will overload the extruder and not enough material could starve the system. In each
case the quality of the pellet and the material itself can be affected. Gamma Meccanica offers both types of feeding methods for use in their new systems and as retrofits to existing machines.
Force Feeders
The use of an auger system enables these devices to regulate the flow of material from the storage cylinder to the feeding zone. By coordinating the feed rates, using the auger speeds, with the extruder, a regularly controlled flow is created and a consistent pellet is the result.
Cutter Compactors
The main features of this kind of feeder are its rotating blades and counter blades, which eliminates the need for a grinding step prior to feeding. Using the heat energy created from the shearing of the material by the rotating blades, the material is directed into an auger which transfers the material into the extruder, ensuring a consistent, coordinated flow of material into the extruder.
