Anti-Static Brush Installation & Maintenance Instructions

Installation

Mount the JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush approximately 1/8” to ¼” above or below the material or substrate to be neutralized. The brush can be easily mounted utilizing the mounting hole provided in the holder.

The JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush must be grounded. A good ground can be achieved by mounting the bar directly to a metal part of a grounded machine frame or by running a separate copper ground wire to either end of the JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush and an established electrical ground, such as an electrical box, conduit, etc.

Locate the JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush on the machine area, where static electricity is generated. You may need a JemmStat™ Static Meter to help identify these areas. A typical installation would be located 3” to 6” from the break-away point where the material being processed separates from the rollers, grippers, or other points of static generation.

A trial and error method of locating the most effective position can be achieved by attaching a ground wire to one end of the JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush, and temporarily mounting the brush above the material in several different positions until the most effective position is identified.

Brush Replacement

When the JemmStat™ Anti-Static Brush has been badly contaminated by adhesives, inks, dirt, etc, it should be replaced in order to maintain maximum effectiveness.
